The Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) offers free English classes and childcare to eligible migrants and humanitarian entrants. AMEP gives students the opportunity to improve their English skills and knowledge about Australian cultures and society.

TasTAFE apprentices have shone at this year’s National Championship and Skills Show hosted by WorldSkills Australia.
13 TasTAFE learners and apprentices tested their skills and knowledge against the nation’s best apprentices and trainees in their chosen field of expertise. Six Tasmanian competitors were awarded medals in a number of categories.

At TasTAFE’s Collins Street Campus in Hobart recently, the Australian Meat Industry Council (AMIC) held its annual Tasmanian ‘Sausage King’ Competition. There was a runaway winner on the day: Mark on Macquarie Meats from South Hobart won gold in 4 of the 6 categories, and silver and bronze in the other 2.
