TasTAFE Residences – self-contained accommodation

Conveniently located onsite at the Clarence Campus in Hobart, the Alanvale Campus in Launceston and the Burnie Campus. Our three Residences offer clean, comfortable and affordable onsite accommodation options for TasTAFE students.

Accommodation

The Residences are for TasTAFE students undertaking training.

Units are divided into underage or overage gender specific units, with options for non-specific gender students.

Each Residence building contains a lounge/dining area with a TV, fully equipped kitchenette (fridge, toaster, kettle, cookware, cutlery, crockery and a stove or microwave), bathroom with shower and separate toilet, fully equipped laundry, and access to vending machines and a range of table sports including table tennis and pool tables.

Single bedrooms contain a bed and bedding (matters cover, pillow and pillowcase), desk and chair, desk lamp, built in wardrobe and shelving, and heater. Short term stay students are encouraged to bring their own bedding and towel, TasTAFE can provide at a fee.

Alanvale Residence (Launceston)

The Alanvale Residence is located onsite at our Alanvale Campus, 54A Alanvale Road, Newnham (Launceston).

The Alanvale residence is just a five-minute drive from the Launceston CBD and the Seaport Precinct, which provides a wide range of food and shopping options.

Comfortable and affordable accommodation is available in four or five-share self-contained motel style units for both short and long-term stays. Wheelchair access is available. Guests are required to self-cater.

Burnie Residence

Burnie Residence is located at Burnie TasTAFE’s Campus and is co-located with Hellyer College. The burnie CBD is a five-minute drive with Metro buses provide regular transport to and from the Burnie CBD, as well as links to nearby towns.

Clarence Residence (Hobart)

The Clarence Residence is located onsite at Clarence Campus, 4a Bounty Street, Warrane – just a short drive from Hobart.

Just a few minutes from Eastlands Shopping Centre, Rosny bus mall and Village Cinemas, the Clarence Residence is also conveniently located to a range of restaurants and takeaway options.

Comfortable and affordable accommodation is available in four or five-share self-contained motel style units for both short and long-term stays. Wheelchair access is available. Guests are required to self-cater.

Bookings must be made prior to arriving at TasTAFE. All bookings must be made online via the student portal. Payment is not required at the time of booking however, payment is preferred at the time of booking.

Rates from 2026

Our accommodation rates are incredibly competitive, making it affordable to travel and stay overnight in the north or south of the state.

TasTAFE students:

$50 per night

$230 per week for students staying 13 nights or greater includes bed linen and towel.
