Drysdale restaurants

TasTAFE Drysdale Hobart, Launceston and Devonport would like to thank all of our patrons for your continued support of tourism and hospitality students.

To minimise the risk of COVID-19, TasTAFE Drysdale will temporarily suspend all restaurant activity from Friday 20 March 2020. Our students will continue to learn and train to become Tasmania’s leading tourism and hospitality experts, but for their safety - and yours - we are ceasing our restaurant activity until further notice.

We will keep you informed of when we are able to welcome you back to our restaurant, as your patronage is very important – both to us, and for the continued growth of Tasmania’s tourism and hospitality industry.

Thank you from the students and staff of TasTAFE Drysdale.

Support our students in action!

If you love great Tasmanian food, wine and service at an affordable price, its time you made a date to come in to one of our Drysdale restaurants, where you can sit back and enjoy a delicious dining experience as our hospitality students and apprentice chefs undertake their practical training preparing and serving a range of high quality food and beverages.

Located at each of the Hobart, Launceston and Devonport campuses, the Drysdale Centre of Excellence restaurants are the training ground for Tasmania’s future chefs and hospitality staff.

As a patron, you’ll be an important part of the learning experience as the next generation of Tasmania’s qualified service personnel gain hands-on training under the supervision of our professional teaching staff. It’s a unique way to experience the state’s booming Hospitality and Tourism industries and gain an insight into what the future holds, as well as provide local support to our up-and-coming hospitality professionals and regional producers.

As a student, you’ll get invaluable experience working on the floor or in a commercial kitchen – putting the theory you learn in the classroom into practice. You’ll get the chance to think on your feet and communicate with your team, as well as gain the hands-on skills you need to provide a high quality experience for your patrons. While you might be nervous to start with, its experiences like these that will help you get the job-ready, practical skills that employers will be looking for.

While it’s not strictly necessary, reservations and group bookings are recommended, and pre-ordering is available if you are short on time.
