Early Childhood Education and Care
Are you a natural with young children? Do you love helping others? Are you keen to make a difference to the next generation?
If this sounds familiar, completing a qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care or Education Support could be just the right career move for you.
Work as an early childhood educator is never dull. Aside from daily routines, you’ll be dealing with a wide range of personalities, learning styles and a variety of unexpected challenges. Organisation and communication skills are important – you’ll have time frames to meet, resources to manage and will work closely with people of all ages and backgrounds.
Our community will always need great educators. You’ll be excited to know that there are many interesting opportunities for your future. From working with children in long day care centres, outside school hours care services and family day care centres, through to being a teacher assistant in kindergartens and schools. Some TasTAFE qualifications also lead into study at the University of Tasmania.
Our courses include a mix of classroom and practical activities. They include work placements in industry settings to help you gain valuable work experience, and provide you with valuable opportunities to establish contacts with potential employers.
Talk to us about your passion for Early Childhood education – there’s nothing better than making a positive difference to the lives of children.
“I chose TasTAFE as I can work and study at the same time. I’ve really enjoyed my training and I have learnt a lot more than I thought!” – Laura, Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
