TasTAFE learners in Launceston and Hobart have been awarded scholarships from the Tasmania Police Charity Trust.

The three learners, Hayleigh Boyles (Diploma of Nursing), Tayla Porter (Certificate IV in Community Services) and Belinda Coghill (Diploma of Community Services) will each receive $2000 towards expenses associated with their TasTAFE course, such as a laptop or travel costs.

“I’d like to congratulate the 2025 Scholarship recipients and thank Tasmania Police officers and state service staff who donate to the Tasmania Police Charity Trust,” said TasTAFE Interim-CEO, Will McShane.

“I commend Commissioner Adams and the Trust on their focus of supporting the educational goals of young people by providing annual scholarships to TasTAFE learners.”

The Tasmania Police Charity Trust TasTAFE Scholarship was established in 2024 to support the studies of young people who have experienced challenging personal circumstances and are committed to improving their future. TasTAFE learners who have enrolled for Certificate III or above for 2025 were asked to submit a short statement about how the Scholarship will assist them with access to their chosen course.

“In 2025, 29 applicants applied for the second round of scholarships,” said Chair of the Trust, Commissioner Donna Adams.

“Congratulations to Hayleigh, Tayla, and Belinda. I look forward to hearing updates about their progress through their courses.”

Commissioner Adams thanked all the learners who applied and wished them well in the study year ahead.
