Develop the skills to assess and validate with confidence

The Assessor Skill Set is designed for individuals who want to become qualified assessors in the vocational education and training (VET) sector. Whether you're assessing in the workplace or within a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), this nationally recognised skill set provides the practical skills and knowledge required to conduct assessments independently.

You'll learn how to plan, prepare and conduct competency-based assessments using nationally recognised training products and assessment tools. The program also covers assessment validation processes and how to interpret and apply training package requirements to support quality assessment outcomes.

Ideal for workplace assessors, trainers, industry experts and VET professionals, this skill set provides a strong foundation for ensuring assessments are fair, valid and reliable, while supporting learner and industry needs.

The skill set covered in this course is derived from units of competency within the broader TAE40122 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification and provides an insight into the full qualification. Successful completion of these units can be used towards the full qualification.
