If you are a guide or educator who is responsible for the safety of groups of people in the great outdoors, now is the time to gain your certification in Wilderness First Aid, and be confident in your abilities to manage injuries and illness in Tasmania’s wilderness.

This short course is designed specifically for adventure guides, outdoor educators and instructors, outdoor recreation leaders and remote area workers.

The course is intended to build on your existing basic First Aid qualifications, with a focus on advanced First Aid skills for assessing and managing injuries and illness in remote outdoor environments, and includes a range of scenarios and practical assessments.

Led by trained outdoor leaders, this course is delivered onsite in a bush setting in Kingston (South).

In this course, you will learn how to coordinate an emergency response and to provide First Aid to casualties in a remote area over an extended period until medical assistance is provided or evacuation occurs.

To keep your Wilderness First Aid certification and skills current, this skill set needs to be updated every three years.

On successful completion of this course, you will receive a Statement of Attainment for the units completed.

Note– 2 units i.e. SISOFLD004 Provide First Aid in remote locations and SISXEMR002 Coordinate emergency responses, are delivered as part of this advanced course. With Provide First Aid being a pre-requisite for Provide First Aid in remote locations, students must have a current HLTAID003 Provide First Aid qualification with a current CPR prior to participating in this course.
