Skill Set Assist Clients with Medication

The Assist Clients with Medication Skill Set provides the knowledge and skills required by Carers and Support workers to safely assist clients with medication within a range of settings, the skill set combines HLTAAP001 Recognise Healthy Body systems and HLTHPS006 Assist Clients with Medication and is contextualised around the relevant industry framework. You cannot complete this course without the support from your workplace. 

The complete skill set will consist of the below workshops plus assessments:

  • HLTHPS006 Assist Clients with Medication online learning and written assessments + one day workshop for practical assessments
  • HLTAAP001 Recognise Healthy Body Systems online learning and assessment
  • This program requires participants to:
  1. Express your Interest  on this link and complete the form. Upon registration a member of the delivery team will contact you with further information.
  2. Once enrolled student will receive student guide to using CANVAS online guide.
  3. Complete online learning and assessment prior to workshop 2 weeks for stand-alone medication and 4 weeks for skill set. This MUST be completed prior to attending the workshop.
  4. Attend a 1 day workshop where participants will be given the opportunity to apply their knowledge in a simulated, hands-on learning environment. This will involve simulated assessments in medication administration and reflection on tasks and own workplace procedures.

Important Note:  This skill set is subsidised by the state government to support employers to meet the requirements of the Disability Services Medication Management Framework.

To be eligible for the Medication Skillset subsidy, you have to be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Medication Refresher (Non Accredited) – Recommended minimum renewal every 3 years

Fees and Payments

2020

$354 (Please note this is the funded price for students undertaking both HLTAAP001 and HLTHPS006 – 1 Day workshop + Online. To be eligible for the Medication Skillset subsidy, you have to be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.

$429 (Individual unit cost for HLTHPS006 Assist Clients with Medication – 1 day workshop + Online, program costs can be negotiated for single employer groups).  A concession rate is not available for this course.

$194 (Individual unit cost for HLTAAP001 Recognise Healthy Body Systems – Online only).  A concession rate is not available for this course.
