As a Cabinet Making apprentice Joshua Boon used the skills he was learning at TasTAFE and his workplace, UCI Joinery, to gain selection in the Tasmanian team for the 2018 WorldSkills Australia National Championships. He won gold in the competition and was selected to represent Australia in Cabinet Making at the international competitions in Russia in 2019. He finished sixth in the world and gained a Medallion of Excellence.
