Learn about the work health and safety requirements needed for managers and supervisors to keep staff safe in the workplace.

Gain the skills you need to describe the legal framework and strategies that act to safeguard workplace health and safety, and to conduct workplace hazard inspections.

This one-day short course will give managers and supervisors an introduction into the legislative Work Health and Safety requirements of employers and employees, and the preventative nature of workplace health and safety.

The course will cover elements of WHS legislation and consultation as well as the provision of WHS training to staff. You’ll also learn how to perform basic risk management, complete an introduction to incident investigation and perform effective WHS record keeping.

In this course you will also need to undertake workplace-based project, requiring you to have access to a workplace that has formal WHS policies and procedures that you can access to read, review and include in your project.

On successful completion of this course you will receive a Statement of Attainment for the unit successfully completed.
