In Tasmania, all young people must participate in education or training until they complete Year 12, attain a Certificate III, or turn 18 years of age, whichever occurs first. To enrol at TasTAFE, you need to be at least 16 years old. There are some exceptions including apprentices and trainees and students who gain approval from TasTAFE and their College or school to study a Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualification.
