Great news, this course is included in Fee-Free TAFE* for courses commencing in 2026.

To be eligible for a Fee-Free place you must be:

  • a resident of Tasmania or working in Tasmania
  • an Australian or New Zealand citizen, an Australian permanent resident, an eligible VISA holder, and
  • of working age

Fee-Free* TAFE is a joint initiative of the Australian and Tasmanian Governments, providing tuition-free training places to eligible Tasmanians wanting to train, retrain or upskill. Places are limited and not guaranteed and applying early is recommended. The number of funded Fee Free* places on offer at TasTAFE are determined by the Australian and Tasmanian Governments.

Note:

  • You can only enrol in one Fee-Free TAFE product in 2026.
  • People currently studying in the school system (up to Year 12) or undertaking a traineeship or apprenticeship are not eligible for Fee-Free TAFE.

If you have strong customer service skills and a keen interest in the Tourism industry, this qualification will develop your existing skills and knowledge and equip you with the skills you need to work in your tourism field of choice.

This qualification is ideal for those seeking employment in the Tourism industry, offering skills in both planning, and coordinating tourism services, as well as hands-on, customer-facing roles.

The Certificate III course provides opportunities to engage with industry employers, connect with a supportive alumni network, and experience Tasmania's tourism firsthand.

This qualification is also available state-wide in the workplace for existing and new workers within the tourism industry.

If completing this qualification as an apprentice/trainee or workplace-based student, your training will consist of a combination of on-the-job training, workshops and self-paced study. Elective units can be tailored to suit individual needs and business requirements.

The Certificate III course provides opportunities to engage with industry employers, connect with a supportive alumni network, and experience Tasmania's tourism industry firsthand.

Courses commencing on 10 February 2026 will run for 27 weeks, plus a 4-week semester break. The expected end date for this course will be 10 September 2026. Your program coordinator will confirm your final course end date with you.
