Are you an experienced welder wanting to further your career? Learn how to pressure weld to the Australian Standard.

This is your opportunity to move into a specialist welding field. In this course you will build upon your welding skills by manufacturing or repairing boilers, pressure vessels, pressure piping and applying high-quality welding to fabrications.

The fee for each practical unit (Certificates 3E, 4, 7, 8F, 8G) is $1860 per unit. AS1796 Welding Theory is an additional $166.

To complete this course, you must:

  1. Have completed a Certificate III in Engineering (in Australia), or
  2. Be an indentured tradesperson, or
  3. Qualify through prior experience. Prior experience includes a minimum of two years’ welding experience and 300 hours of training

This course is delivered over 60 hours. A minimum of 40 supervised hours must be completed before the practical assessment can be completed. The practical component is delivered on-campus and theory is completed off-campus. Involved in the course is a supervised three-hour closed book theory exam.

After successfully completing this course, you will receive a certificate that meets the requirements of AS1796 welding certificate/s (1-9) as per the standard.
