Build the skills and confidence to start your career in the mining industry
Get job-ready for the mining and resources sector with TasTAFE’s Mining Skills Passport - a course designed to equip you with the essential safety and compliance skills required to enter site-based roles.
This program brings together a suite of units, including CPCWHS1001 Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry, Provide First Aid, Conduct Hazard Analysis, Enter and Work in Confined Spaces, and Work Safely at Heights. These core competencies are widely recognised across industry and form the foundation for working safely in high-risk environments.
Whether you’re starting out in mining or looking to expand your existing skillset, the Mining Skills Passport provides a clear pathway into entry-level roles and ongoing opportunities across the resources sector.
This course is ideal for individuals looking to enter the mining, construction and related industries, as well as workers needing to update or formalise their safety credentials.
This program has been developed by the Tasmanian Minerals, Manufacturing and Energy Council (TMEC) and the mining industry. The Mining Skills Passport is recognised by the mining industry as a desirable pathway to begin working in that sector.
Successful participants will be issued a Statement of Attainment by TasTAFE and will then be eligible to receive a Mining Skills Passport from TMEC.
