Build your confidence with the basics of computing.
Introduction to Computing is a practical, beginner-friendly course for adults with little or no previous computer experience. It is designed for people who want to build confidence using technology in everyday life, work or further study.
Course delivery
Delivered over eight weeks by TasTAFE in partnership with Libraries Tasmania, the course provides a welcoming, face-to-face learning environment. Participants can learn at a comfortable pace, ask questions and practise new skills through guided, hands-on activities.What you will learn
- Basic computer equipment and commonly used terminology
- Using a keyboard and mouse
- Creating, editing, saving, organising and printing documents
- Managing files and folders
- Setting up and using email
- Using common Google applications
- Searching for information online
- Accessing websites, forms and essential online services
- Protecting personal information and recognising common online risks
- Using simple strategies to solve everyday technology problems
Course outcomes
