TasTAFE are delivering multiple free short courses in your local community to give you the opportunity to pick up important skills in computing, job seeking, applying for work and everyday maths. These courses are design for adults who need a little guidance and support to discover how easy it is when you know the tips and tricks.

Improve your employability skills and get work ready. Gain a solid understanding of workplace requirements and the things everyone needs to get work and maintain employment. You will learn about:

  • workplace expectations
  • types of employment
  • a range of industries
  • career pathways
  • employment opportunities
  • how to approach employers
  • the supports you will need

22476VIC - Everyday Maths

This course is for people who would like to increase their confidence with everyday maths. This includes recognition, comparison, simple one-step calculations with money and everyday maths used in normal activities such as shopping, paying a bill, prices in advertising or work-related calculations. We will explore:

  • Numbers in familiar situations
  • Place value
  • Order and comparison
  • Simple, everyday calculations
  • Everyday fractions, decimals and percentages
  • Rough checks
