The fee you pay at TasTAFE will depend on the course you choose and may vary depending on the level of government subsidy available, the cost of delivery, any previous study you have undertaken and/or your personal circumstances.

Are you a holder of a Tasmanian-nominated Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa?
Are you a holder of a temporary humanitarian visa?
Are you a dependant (aged over 18) or partner (spouse) visa holder
of an eligible applicant?
Do you reside or work in Tasmania?
Are you aged 16 years or above?
Are you under 19 years of age AND have not completed your TCE AND
left school?
Do you hold a current concession card?

In Tasmania, all young people must participate in education or training until they complete Year 12, attain a Certificate III, or turn 18 years of age, whichever occurs first.
To enrol at TasTAFE, you need to be at least 16 years old. There are some exceptions including apprentices and trainees and students who gain approval from TasTAFE and their College or school to study a Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualification. It’s best to talk to your school careers advisor first or call us on 1300 655 307 to talk about your options.
