Do you need help with reading, writing, maths and using digital technology? This course can help you get the basic skills you need to prepare for study or work.
This no-fee course will help you get better at reading, writing and maths. It will help you improve your confidence when speaking to other people. It will also help you learn the basics of using everyday digital technology. This course covers:
Working out your goals
This course will help you work out your learning goals and identify the foundation skills you need to develop. In this course, you will also plan and complete a personal project with support.Reading, Writing and Speaking
You will learn to read and write in different ways, as well as work on your spelling and punctuation. This course will also help you talk about your ideas, ask questions, and present yourself more confidently.Numeracy
If you need help with maths, this course will help you develop the basic skills. You will identify numeracy in everyday situations, develop skills to complete calculations and work with a range of measurements.Computers
You will learn the basics needed to operate a range of digital devices to complete everyday tasks, including computers, iPads and phones. You will also learn how to use and navigate in Canvas, an LMS used by TasTAFE students.On successful completion of this course, you will have improved your reading, writing, maths and digital literacy skills. These skills will help you feel ready for further study and develop your employability.
On completion of this course, you will receive a Statement of Attainment for units completed.
