Keen to get yourself skilled and ready for bar or café work? Be prepared with these essential bar and service skills (plus your Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) qualification!)

This course is great for those heading into their first hospitality job or wanting to make themselves an all-rounder! You will be taught all the basics you need to work in a bar, cellar door, café or restaurant where you might need to pitch – whether that’s in behind a bar, running tables or understanding good hygiene practices so you can help out in kitchen prep. You will be handy wherever you’re needed!

On top of that, you’ll also receive you Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) qualification, which is a legal requirement when working with alcohol products in hospitality.

This course runs for 2.5 days per week over five weeks and includes hands-on training in a working restaurant environment, including some evening bar services. You will gain the skills and knowledge required to prepare a bar for service, take drink orders, prepare and serve beverages and deliver food to tables. Importantly, this course also covers hygiene practices to follow for food safety.

Upon completion, you’ll have the opportunity to progress to either a Certificate II or Certificate III in Hospitality, building a strong foundation for a career in the hospitality industry.
