Are you a dependant (aged over 18) or partner (spouse) visa holder of an eligible applicant?

Are you under 19 years of age AND have not completed year 12 AND left school?

In Tasmania, all young people must participate in education or training until they complete Year 12, attain a Certificate III, or turn 18 years of age, whichever occurs first. To enrol at TasTAFE, you need to be at least 16 years old. There are some exceptions including apprentices and trainees and students who gain approval from TasTAFE and their College or school to study a Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualification. It’s best to talk to your school careers advisor first or call us on 1300 655 307 to talk about your options.

If you are under 19 as of 1 January this year, it is unlikely you will pay a tuition fee for this calendar year. A levy may apply. Check with a TasTAFE staff member for further advice.
