Our experienced teaching team will provide you with support in developing effective workplace communication, reading and formal writing skills and numeracy skills
In this course, you will:
- develop your skills and confidence for adult learning
- focus on topics that allow you to explore work and training opportunities and career planning
- develop soft skills such as teamwork, critical thinking and problem solving
- learn how to improve your personal confidence and self-image
- learn basic skills for assertive communication and managing conflict
- examine ethical issues in the workplace
- learn how to prepare and deliver effective presentations and use software applications for a range of routine workplace tasks
- write routine workplace documents, and read and respond to pre-employment and workplace texts
- improve your skills in basic numeracy and measurement concepts
To be successful in the course you will need to commit to up to 20 hours of learning per week.
On successful completion of this course, you will be well equipped with the skills you need to seek employment and enter the workforce in a broad range of industry areas, or you might like to continue your studies and undertake further training at TasTAFE at Certificate III or IV level.
