Domestic students: Prior to submitting an application please ensure you meet eligibility criteria.
To be eligible you must:
- be a new student enrolled full time at TasTAFE, on campus study in Semester 1 2024 (for the purposes of the Destination Australia Program, a “new student” refers to all students to commence their studies at TasTAFE, including those students who commence a new course of study, e.g. Certificate IV into Advanced Diploma; a student may have studied with TasTAFE in the past; someone that is currently studying at TasTAFE in a different course or location)
- be a domestic student
- complete a valid application form in full
Preference will be given to students who are:
- Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, OR
- a person with a person with a disability/ diagnosed medical/ mental health condition, OR
- long-term unemployed (longer than 6 months), OR
- a single parent, OR
- carer, OR
- required to relocate or travel a significant distance to attend classes, OR
- facing significant financial hardship
- demonstrate a commitment to their training and education at TasTAFE
- demonstrate how the scholarships will help them to overcome any potential barriers to participating

- hold a subclass 500 visa
- complete a valid application form
Preference will be given to students who:
- demonstrate a commitment to their training and education at TasTAFE
- how the scholarships will help them to overcome any potential barriers to participating
The following conditions apply:
- this scholarship is not transferrable to other TasTAFE campuses, or other educational/ training institutions.
- you must remain enrolled at the TasTAFE campus the scholarship is offered at.
- you must maintain ongoing residency in a regional area for the duration of the scholarship. If you are successful you will be asked to provide evidence of your home address eg. utilities' bills, rates, rental notice etc.
- you must be engaged and maintaining required study load/academic achievement.
- agree and consent to participating in TasTAFE marketing activities.
As part of the application process, you will be required to respond to four questions (100-300 words each, as a guide).
When you apply for this scholarship, you will need to supply evidence of meeting the eligibility criteria, e.g. student visa, bank statements.
