Teaching groups from various parts of China have recently visited TasTAFE for training and to find out more about how our training works.

All groups learnt about the Australian Vocational Education and Training system as well as experiencing some Tasmanian culture and lifestyle.

Colleges involved were Wuxi, who sent 11 teachers for two weeks and undertook some Training and Assessment (TAE) training. Wuhu sent 12 teachers for two weeks to experience how TasTAFE campuses operate, and had the opportunity to see and talk with teachers in a number of industry areas.  Chambroad (Shanndong Province) sent five teachers for five weeks who undertook training in Early Childhood Education and Care Education Support, visited some Childcare and Early Learning Centres and studied some English language.

TasTAFE received some outstanding feedback from participating teachers and their leaders. The Wuxi group highlighted the differences in our training and education systems, the quality of training and the caring support they received whilst in Tasmania. They also had wonderful things to say about their experiences with Tasmanian places, culture and food.

TasTAFE expects to have continued and expanded training relationships with all three organisations. This type of result can only be achieved by continuing to build strong international relationships and through the efforts and commitment of a number of TasTAFE staff.
