Tasmania’s economy is changing. As we move from a reliance on traditional industry to new and emerging industries, our workforce and our training will need to change too. Tasmanians will need different skills and attributes to take advantage of new opportunities and to help our economy grow.
TasTAFE has a significant role to play in helping build the capacity of local communities and providing training that meets the needs of the future job market. As the public training provider for Tasmania, we are well placed to lead the reform agenda and develop real skills for real jobs.
The TasTAFE Education Blueprint focuses on 4 major themes:
Theme 1: Quality Vocational Education and Training that is Accessible for the Tasmanian Community
Theme 2: Tasmania – The State of Innovation
Theme 3: Learning happens in Partnership
Theme 4: Learning is Contemporary and Cutting Edge
Please download our discussion starter – the summary document of the Education Blueprint Consultation Paper – and consider the following questions:
- What do the themes mean for Tasmania’s system of learning and training?
- What do the themes mean for TasTAFE’s infrastructure, technology and connection to the community?
- Are there other aspirations that you think are important for the future of learning and training in Tasmania?
- Following the development of the TasTAFE Education Blueprint, the Education Architecture project will help realise the vision of moving from Good to Great – TasTAFE is recognised as a great provider of VET and is the first choice for Tasmanians seeking access to contemporary vocational skills development
