CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (White Card)

White Card training is compulsory for all construction workers and includes OHS, emergency procedures, risk management and construction hazards. The National Code of Practice for Induction for Construction Work requires that all construction workers undertake training to receive the new national ‘White Card’. TasTAFE will customise training to meet the needs of your business and your industry.

Participants will learn:

  • About workplace health and safety.
  • About legislation requirements and responsibilities (employer and employee).
  • To perform emergency procedures including evacuation procedures and first aid response requirements.
  • About basic risk management.
  • About building and construction hazards.
  • About the OHS hierarchy of controls.
  • About Person Protective Equipment (PPE) and how to fit it.

Upon receiving your Statement of Attainment for this course you will be eligible to lodge an application for a White Card through Service Tasmania. Service Tasmania will review the documentation and forward it to WorkSafe Tasmania for processing. A White Card does not have an expiration date and does not require a refresher course.
