This course gives introduces you to the world of cooking and includes a strong base of essential skills. If you’re looking for employment in restaurants, hotels, cafes, bars, pubs or catering facilities, set yourself up for success with this course!
In this course you will gain experience working in a commercial kitchen setting. You’ll learn about a range of food preparation equipment. You’ll be able to select, and safely use, the right equipment for the food being prepared. This course covers how to safely and hygienically handle and store food, as well as how to clean food preparation areas and equipment. You will also gain experience in preparing and presenting a range of simple dishes.
The course is delivered full-time over three (3) weeks on campus and includes some online learning. On successful completion of this course, you will receive a Statement of Attainment for the units completed.
