This course provides you with the skills and knowledge to guide bushwalks with groups of tourists and to interpret Tasmania’s natural and cultural heritage in a safe and environmentally sustainable way.

This program focuses on the skills you need to guide groups on bushwalking tracks in Tasmania’s wilderness areas. You will learn how to work as a Bushwalking Tour Guide – leading and managing groups; bushwalking techniques; navigation; interpreting the weather and connecting your group to a wide range of amazing natural and cultural places by sharing interesting facts and stories.

Throughout this course, you will undertake a range of day and multi-day bushwalks to several Tasmanian National Parks in which bushwalking tours are conducted. These include the Tasman National Park, Freycinet National Park, Walls of Jerusalem National Park and Cradle Mt. Lake St Clair National Park.

Apply today and gain the skills to be qualified to undertake a range of outdoor bushwalking activities and tours. On successful completion of this course, you will receive a Statement of Attainment for the units completed.

Short course

This is a full-time course. Classes are Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm, with some early starts and overnight classes. Training is a combination of classroom, offsite and online.
