This course is designed for individuals who want to progress to a supervisory position within a commercial kitchen.
To enrol in this course, you must hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or have equivalent industry experience, and be currently working in the industry.
In this course, you will learn how to lead and supervise a commercial kitchen team, roster staff, and manage staff performance and diversity within the workplace.
You will learn how to coordinate cooking operations to ensure the smooth running of a commercial kitchen, as well as implement and monitor work health and safety practices, and manage environmentally sustainable work practices.
You’ll also learn how to manage a kitchen’s finances – including allocating budget resources, monitoring financial activities against the budget and identifying and evaluating options for improved budget performance.
On successful completion of this course you will receive a Statement of Attainment for the units completed, and be well equipped to make the move to supervisor, and lead and manage your kitchen team.
This skill set can also contribute towards a pathway to SIT40516 – Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery.
Training is mostly delivered in a virtual environment, with some workplace assessment.
