Short Course Restricted Electrical Training

Many tradespeople undertake tasks that involves working with electrical systems in both plant and appliances. In many instances, a Restricted Electrical License is required before you are legally able work on such systems. This course focuses on how to disconnect and reconnect fixed wired electrical equipment connected to a low voltage supply. This may be incidental to, or a secondary part of, a principle work function. It includes safely testing and reporting.

After successfully completing off-the-job training you will practice your skills under the direct supervision of a suitably qualified person and log your experience. This is a mandatory requirement to satisfy your occupational license requirements.

Participants will learn:

  • To work safely
  • To identify supply arrangements
  • To follow isolation procedures (Lock Out Tag Out)
  • To select and use testing and measuring devices
  • To terminate and connect cables and conductors.

This course includes:

  • Voltage identification
  • Circuit isolation at switch board
  • Terminal disconnect and reconnect
  • Testing for safe operation
