Short Course Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol

All courses will run subject to reaching minimum class numbers.

Nationally accredited, the SITHFAB002 – Provide responsible service of alcohol course gives an overview of a server’s legal responsibility, liability and duty of care to patrons. This RSA course is a legal requirement for anyone working with alcohol products in the hospitality industry.

Participants will learn:

  • To sell or serve alcohol responsibly
  • To assist customers to drink within appropriate limits
  • To assess alcohol-affected customers and identify customers to whom the sale or service must be refused
  • To refuse to provide alcohol.

Location, dates and times

Enrolments are now open for on campus courses. Enrolments for online courses will commence shortly.

    You will be asked to agree and consent before continuing with your enrolment.

When attending a campus you must bring your proof of ID with you.

Maximum class size is capped at 20 students.

Learning Options

This course is delivered on campus and online.

Online Course

Students who can demonstrate they are currently working within a bar can now enrol in the online course without the need to attend an on campus class.  All online courses will be available for enrolment shortly. Those students who are currently not working within the industry will need to complete the course on campus.

Recognition of Prior Learning

It makes sense that you should be recognised for the things you already know how to do. TasTAFE can assess your skills and knowledge based on your previous education, work history or life experience. This may help you gain your qualification a whole lot faster.
