Short Courses  –  What we offer!

We are excited to share with you our Short Course Skills Sets for 2018.  We have expanded our training options and are proud to announce that we are offering Australia’s most comprehensive short course program.  If you are interested in any of our training then book in early as places are limited.   Come and learn new skills with TasTAFE in the breathtaking Tasmanian outdoors!

 

Short Course Program

  • Wilderness First Aid – 5 days (Monday to Friday) – 8.30am to 5pm  (Minimum No. is 8)
    • 23 – 27 July 2018 – Camp Banksia, Port Sorell
    • 24 – 28 September 2018 – The Lea, Hobart
    • 29 October – 2 November 2018 – The Lea, Hobart
    • 3 – 7 December 2018 – The Lea, Hobart
  • Wilderness First Aid Refresher – 2 days (Saturday and Sunday) – 8.30am to 5pm  (Minimum No. is 4)
    • 28 & 29 July 2018 – Camp Banksia, Port Sorell
    • 29 & 30 September 2018 – The Lea, Hobart
    • 3 & 4 November 2018 – The Lea, Hobart
  • White Water (River) Kayaking – 5 days (Monday to Friday)  (Minimum No. is 8)
    • 23 – 27 July 2018 – Derwent River (Introduction)
    • 6 – 10 August 2018 – Venue to be advised (Intermediate)
    • 26 – 30 November 2018 – Venue to be advised (Assessment)
  • Sea Kayaking – 5 days (Monday to Friday)
    • 5 – 9 November 2018 – East Coast (Introduction)  (Minimum No. is 6)
    • 19 – 25 November 2018 – East Coast (Intermediate)  (Minimum No. is 10)
  • White Water Rescue –  Friday, Saturday, Sunday  (Minimum No. is 10)
    • 1 – 3 September 2018 – Arm River Camp
  • Rafting Guide – 5 days (Monday to Friday  (Minimum No. is 10)
    • 4 – 8 September 2018 – Arm River Camp
  • Expedition Medicine – Advanced Wilderness First Aid  (Minimum No. is 12)
    • 20 – 27 August 2018 – Arm River Camp
  • Abseiling & Climbing Courses  (Minimum No. is 8)
    • 13 – 16 November 2018 – Freycinet National Park (Assessment – through TCIA)
  • Canyon Guide – 4 days – Friday to Monday  (Minimum No. is 8)
    • 26 – 29 October 2018 – Cradle Mountain Canyons (Single Pitch Canyon Guide)
    • Dates to be advised – Cradle Mountain Canyons (Multi Pitch Canyon Guide)

Courses must reach minimum numbers to make them viable.  If any course fails to reach the minimum number of students, then it may be cancelled.  In this case all applicants will be notified immediately and any fees paid will be returned or applied to a future course if preferred.

Wilderness First Aid  –  $350

Wilderness First Aid Refresher  –  $350

Expedition Medicine (Advanced Wilderness First Aid)  –  To be advised

White Water Rescue  –  $240

Rafting Guides Course  –  $405

River Kayaking Course  –  $750

River Kayaking Assessment  –  To be advised

Sea Kayaking Course  –  $405

Abseiling & Climbing Courses

  • Abseiling – $750
  • Top Rope – $500

Abseiling & Top Rope Assessment

  • Abseiling:  $490
  • Top Rope:  $245
  • Both:  $735
