Skill Set CPCSS00004 provide building surveying services for residential buildings up to 3 storeys

This Skill Set is part of the CPC Construction, Plumbing and Services Training Package Version 1.1

The Skill Set covers the competencies required by building surveyors or certifiers who apply knowledge of compliance requirements and construction methods and materials to the implementation of statutory building surveying requirements, or to the provision of advisory building surveying services.

It applies to services provided for Class 1 and 10 buildings and structures as defined in the Building Code of Australia (BCA), up to three storeys and not more than 2000 square metres in floor area.

The target participants for this training product are people currently working as, or intending to work as, private or municipal building surveyors specifically on Class 1 and Class 10 buildings and structures as defined in the BCA.

  • Construction methods and materials
  • Compliance and documentation
  • Processing planning applications
  • Processing building applications
  • Construction inspections
  • Advanced and final inspections
  • Building surveying audits

Career Opportunities

This course may lead to the following career opportunities:

  •  Level 3 Assistant Building Surveyor or Building Inspector. Please note, it is essential to refer to state regulatory authorities in relation to employment pathways for graduates of the skill set as these continue to be developed in each state.
