Skill Set CPCSS00004 provide building surveying services for residential buildings up to 3 storeys

This Skill Set is part of the CPC Construction, Plumbing and Services Training Package version 1.1

The Skill Set covers the competencies required by building surveyors or certifiers who apply knowledge of compliance requirements and construction methods and materials to the implementation of statutory building surveying requirements or to the provision of advisory building surveying services.

It applies to services provided for Class 1 and 10 buildings and structures as defined in the Building Code of Australia (BCA), up to three storeys and not more than 2000 square metres in floor area.

The target participants for this training product are people currently working as, or intending to work as, private or municipal building surveyors specifically on Class 1 and Class 10 buildings and structures as defined in the BCA.

The Team provides nationally professionally accredited building surveying programs right across Australia.

Students intending on enrolling will be asked to undergo a Suitability Activity.

Career Opportunities

Graduates of this Skill Set and who meet the requirements stated by regulatory bodies in each State or Territory may be registered as, for example, a Level 3 Assistant Building Surveyor or Building Inspector or similar and gain employment working with higher level Building Surveyors or in a range of organisations, including local government organisations. (Please note, it is essential to refer to state regulatory authorities in relation to employment pathways for graduates of the skill set as these are still being developed in each state.)

Further Study Pathways

The completion of this skill set provides a pathway to the CPC60115 Advanced Diploma of Building Surveying. Graduates of the Advanced Diploma may continue on to a post graduate or graduate degree in Building Surveying or a related qualification.
