Get qualified as a Building Surveyor and develop an advanced understanding of compliance requirements and traditional, new and emerging construction methods and materials.

This qualification is the minimum requirement for national appointment as a Building Surveyor (Level 2) and also allows for membership to the national professional organisation, the Australian Institute of Building Surveyors.

If you are looking to work at a higher level in the building surveying profession, this course will give you the skills you need to apply your knowledge of compliance requirements and construction methods and materials to the implementation of statutory building surveying requirements or to the provision of advisory building surveying services.

Throughout this course, you’ll develop the skills and knowledge you need to apply legal and ethical requirements to building surveying functions, and assess and advise on the compliance of design documentation for residential and commercial buildings of up to three storeys. You’ll also learn to research and evaluate construction methods and materials for residential and commercial buildings, and assess and advise on performance-based solutions for buildings up to three storeys.

Other areas of study for residential and commercial buildings of up to three storeys will focus on planning and building applications, building surveying audits, and construction and final inspections.

Successful completion of this course will equip you with the skills you need to become a Building Surveyor either in local government or private enterprise throughout Australia.
