JobTrainer NO FEE places

The JobTrainer Fund provides NO FEE training for Tasmanian job seekers, young people aged 17-24 (including school leavers), and people of any age interested in studying aged care, childcare, disability care or digital skills qualifications.

The JobTrainer Fund is a joint initiative of the Australian and Tasmanian Governments.

This course has limited JobTrainer places and eligibility criteria applies.

Are you working in the Individual Support Sector; Aged, Home & Community and/or Disability? If yes, this online course may be for you!

Gain the specialised skills you need to provide support to people living with disability.

If you are currently working in the Individual Support Sector in a support worker role, this course is aimed at extending your current skills and knowledge.

This course is facilitated fully online. You will need to commit 1 day per week to attend a mandatory webinar and 1 day per week (flexible) to complete the online learning tasks in readiness for the following week.

This skill set will provide you with the opportunity to undertake four units focusing on the specialised skills and knowledge you need to provide support for people with disability.

You’ll learn the importance of community participation and social inclusion. How to implement best practice and current support approaches when working with people with disability in areas of independence, behavioural support and skill development.

To successfully complete the assessment requirements for these units, you must be:

  • working in the Individual Support sector (it is recommended that you are working at least 15 hours per week in a support worker role).
  • Supporting at least 3 people with disability
  • Have the support of your Manager to be complete the on-the-job tasks.

On successful completion of this skill set, you will have the skills you need to undertake a variety of specialised roles in the Disability sector, or you might like to undertake further study and enrol in CHC42015 Certificate IV in Community Services or CHC52015 Diploma of Community Services.
