Upgrade your current qualification and gain the specialised skills you need to provide care and support to people living with disability.
If you have already completed a Certificate III qualification in a related Health or Community Services discipline, or are currently working in the Disability sector in a support role, you might be interested in extending your skills and knowledge and undertake a skill set in Disability.
This skill set will provide you with the opportunity to undertake four units focusing on the specialised skills and knowledge you need to provide care and support for people with disability.
You’ll learn how to support community participation and social inclusion and how to facilitate the empowerment of people with disability, as well as follow established person-centred behaviour supports. You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to ongoing skills development using a strengths-based approach.
On successful completion of this skill set, you will have the skills you need to undertake a variety of specialised roles in the Disability Services industry, or you might like to undertake further study and enrol in CHC42015 – Certificate IV in Community Services or CHC52015 – Diploma of Community Services.
