SIT30216 Certificate III in Travel is part of the Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Training Package.

This course is designed for people wishing to gain employment in the Tasmanian retail travel or general tourism industry businesses as a travel or tourism consultant.

This course provides you with the skills to work in the front line of travel agencies, cruise companies, travel wholesalers and a range of tourism businesses. This qualification will give you an opportunity to gain practical skills on a range of industry computerised reservation and information systems.

This industry is for those who have a high level of organisational skills, ability to cope with constant change, adaptable and are confident working under pressure. Participants working in this area must be willing to conform to industry and enterprise regulations such as maintaining good grooming and presentation.

This course involves full time onsite training at Drysdale South consisting of 20 weeks, including 40 hours work placement and 50 hours of volunteering with various organisations.

Outcome

SIT30216 Certificate III in Travel

Students who do not successfully complete the qualification will be issued with a ‘Statement of Attainment’ listing all successfully completed units.

Qualification Requirements

To achieve a SIT30216 Certificate III in Travel, seventeen units must be successfully completed.   These include fourteen core units and three electives.

The three elective units can be selected from the named electives in the qualification, or from elsewhere in the SIT Training Package, or any other current Training Package or accredited course.
