BSB30315 Certificate III in Micro Business Operations

BSB30315 Certificate III in Micro Business Operations is offered under the Business Services Training Package and is competency-based – that is; – the ability to perform something to an agreed standard.

Micro businesses are small businesses with fewer than five employees. This course will support potential Tasmanian micro business operators wishing to explore the possibility of setting up their own business. Micro business operators would include independent contractors or home-based business operators. We are happy to work with micro business people from any industry.

Learning Options

Learning and assessment involves completion of activities, assignments and knowledge activities.
To further enhance your skill level you should consider accessing voluntary work placement opportunities – talk with your teacher for more ideas on this.

Flexible learning involves you allocating time to study – rather than turning up to a physical class, you have choices in deciding when you switch into study mode and allocate time to study. A positive attitude to making that time happen will give you the greatest success in achieving.

Online e-learning also requires access to:-

  • a computer,
  • a personal email address and
  • an internet connection and have Microsoft Office installed.
  • A learning resource fee may apply

TasTAFE can provide a daytime flexible learning environment with individual access to computers within the Libraries at regional campuses as an option.

Assessment Process

Assessment will include:

  • Observation/Checklists from workplaces if relevant
  • Completion of activity and assignment tasks
  • Completion of project assessments to demonstrate your competency

Recognition

Where prospective students hold existing TAFE, Tasmanian Polytechnic or TasTAFE accounting qualifications (or parts of qualifications) credit may be given into BSB30315 Certificate III in Micro Business Operations.

Pre-requisites

This program is ideally suited to students who have an established idea of what micro business they are endeavouring to start.
Basic numeracy, literacy and computing skills will be necessary.
If you need to improve these skills, we recommend that that you undertake an introductory computing unit.

Qualification Requirements

To attain BSB30315 Certificate III in Micro Business Operations, 10 units must be achieved consisting of 5 core units, plus 5 elective units.
