RII30915 Certificate III in Civil Construction

This qualification is available as an apprenticeship for people employed in the civil construction industry. It is also available for people currently working in the industry and seeking to gain this qualification through recognition.

Each student must be working on an operating civil construction site, and as such have access to the plant, equipment and materials associated with their job role. The site, plant, equipment and materials must be safe to use.

The qualification applies to specialist occupations in bituminous surfacing, bridge construction and maintenance, pipe laying, road construction and maintenance, road marking, and general civil construction.

This course may lead to the following career opportunities:

  • The role of a skilled operator in the civil construction industry, specialising in the stream completed.

Location, Dates and Times

This qualification is generally delivered over 3 years in the workplace, but may be completed earlier depending on the individuals experience.

This qualification is available year round, as it is delivered in the workplace through an apprenticeship.

Successful completion of twenty five (25) units of competency made up of:

  • 7 core units plus
  • 18 elective units
