BSB20115 Certificate II in Business is part of the Business Services Training Package. It is an entry level qualification into the business environment and also delivers sound preparation for further study of business related qualifications. It provides students with basic operational knowledge and skills in a limited range of mainly routine tasks.

This qualification is available under the Traineeship framework.

Assessment Process

Assessments are designed to help you demonstrate your skills and knowledge. They allow us to confirm you can perform to the standard required in the workplace, to meet all of the requirements of the course.

Throughout all assessments, Occupational Health & Safety procedures must be followed. Assessment may include:

  • task based assessments to demonstrate skills
  • knowledge questions

Recognition of Prior Learning

It makes sense that you should be recognised for the things you already know how to do. TasTAFE can assess your skills and knowledge based on your previous education, work history or life experience. This may help you gain your qualification a whole lot faster.

If you demonstrate you already have basic business skills from previous study or work related experience, it is recommended that you consider the BSB30115 – Certificate III in Business or BSB30415 – Certificate III in Business Administration.

What will I need to bring?

Students will need to have:

  • Access to a computer with the Microsoft Software Suite and broadband
  • An email address
  • A memory stick or some kind of portable memory device is highly recommended
  • TasTAFE has computer labs at regional campuses which are open for students to access during normal business hours

Are there ‘other’ costs?

A learning resource fee of $147 applies.

Essential Requirements

There are no essential entry requirements for this course.

Suitability

An application process, which includes an online Language, Literacy and Numeracy component, must be completed prior to enrolment to help ensure this is the right course for you.   If you do not have the Language, Literacy and Numeracy skills required to successfully undertake the course we will discuss your results with you, your study options and will provide a referral to the Vocational Preparation programs available from TasTAFE.

Qualification Requirements

To achieve a BSB20115 – Certificate II in Business, 12 units must be successfully completed. These include one core unit and eleven elective units. Electives are selected based on industry and/or employer consultation.
