Kick start your Automotive career and learn how to perform a range of servicing tasks in the Automotive retail, service and repair industry.
This qualification is designed to prepare you for work as a new employee in the automotive industry, or recognise and develop your existing skills if you are already employed and working as a Technician in automotive vehicle servicing.
In this course, you will gain the skills and knowledge you need to perform a range of servicing operations on light vehicles, heavy vehicles and/or motorcycles within an automotive service or repair business.
You’ll learn how to follow environmental and sustainability best practice, and undertake safe working practices in an automotive workplace, as well as learn how to identify basic automotive faults using troubleshooting processes.
You’ll gain lots of experience carrying out servicing operations, and learn how to inspect, test and service batteries and engines, as well as braking, cooling, steering and suspension systems. You’ll also use and maintain a range of tools and equipment, and learn how to inspect and service final drive assemblies and drive shafts.
This course is designed for people who are currently employed within the Automotive Service and Repair sector. To undertake this course, you must have access to a suitable workplace for the practical components of the course and be supervised at your workplace by an appropriately experienced or qualified trades person who is able to sign-off on the workplace practical tasks.
On successful completion of this course, you will have the skills you need to progress your career, or seek an apprenticeship in a wide range of Automotive work streams.
