Develop your post-trade skills and knowledge to become a specialist within the Conservation and Land Management industry.

If you are already working in the Conservation and Land Management industry and want to further develop your skills and knowledge – or gain a qualification for the things you already do – this course will allow you to focus on a selection of units from Indigenous land management, natural area restoration, conservation earthworks or lands, parks and wildlife management.

Throughout the course, you’ll learn how to manage your responsibilities in supervising land, parks and wildlife management activities, and maintain work health and safety processes in the Conservation and Land Management context.

Your core training may include planning and implementing re-vegetation works, monitoring biodiversity and supervising natural area restoration works, as well as producing maps for land management purposes and processing applications for changes in land use.

On successful completion of this qualification, you will have gained the post-trade skills and knowledge you need to become a specialist within the Conservation and Land Management industry. You may also be interested in undertaking further study at TasTAFE with the AHC51116 – Diploma of Conservation and Land Management.

An important feature of this course is that skills are developed and assessed in a workplace situation. Therefore access to a suitable workplace is necessary. This may be paid or voluntary work at the appropriate level or project work undertaken at the Clarence or Burnie Campus or other sites.

This qualification is also available as an Australian Apprenticeship.
