If you work on a farm and are interested in gaining a qualification for the industry you are working in… this qualification in Production Horticulture is just the course for you!
This course is ideal if you are currently employed in a rural workplace – or have access to a property to complete the practical component of training – and are looking to gain a qualification for the work you already do.
You will have the opportunity to select cropping, vegetable or berry production, or a mixture of these areas in the case of mixed enterprises.
Throughout the course, you’ll learn about establishing and maintaining horticultural crops and the use of chemicals for plant pest, disease and disorder management. You’ll also learn about biosecurity, irrigation and harvesting, and how to operate and maintain basic and specialised machinery.
On successful completion of this course, you will have gained a vocational outcome in Production Horticulture, and have the skills and knowledge you need to work within the industry in a range of mid-level roles.
This course is also available as an Australian Apprenticeship.
