This course will provide you with an introduction to the fundamentals of user experience (UX) design, and has a strong focus on digital product design.

It is suitable for anyone with an interest in human behaviour, marketing, design, product design and the many industries that have interaction with end users, and is also ideal if you are looking to extend your skills and knowledge within your current role. In this course you will learn about UX best practice and how to apply it to a workflow, as well as how to clarify project requirements, generate ideas and plan an approach that meets specified client outcomes.

You’ll spend time researching interactive media digital interfaces, designs, images, artwork and other creative sources that may inspire design ideas, and learn how to use graphics software to develop a structure for user interfaces based on a final design concept.

You’ll also learn how to produce and finalise user interfaces, review and assess the effectiveness of creative solutions, and get some tips on how to discuss additional requirements or modifications to the overall design with a client.

This six-week course is delivered online using a mixture of online videos, webinars, written content and assessment tasks. You will also need to commit to at least 8 hours a week to work independently on structured tasks and activities, including research and completing learning tasks.

On successful completion of this course, you will have gained a comprehensive understanding of UX best practice and developed a portfolio to showcase your UX skills and knowledge to potential employers. You may also be interested in undertaking further study at TasTAFE with CUA40715 – Certificate IV in Design.
