TasTAFE’s network of libraries are committed to providing a dynamic space that supports a great learning experience and provides the help you need to gain your qualification.
Not only are the seven TasTAFE libraries a great place to study and socialise – they are also an important part of your broader support network. If you aren’t sure who to approach for the help you need, our friendly library staff members are a good place to start for both on and off-campus students.

Technology
As well as computers, laptops and printers/photocopiers, you will also find new technology such as 3D printers, robots and Virtual Reality available for you to use or borrow.
If you need support with basic IT skills, our library staff love to help – so please let them know if you need some assistance.

Library collections
Our library collections are available statewide, which means that you can borrow and return books or resources to any of our seven libraries.
The Library tab on the front page of the libraries website gives you access to our catalogues where you can search the collection, renew your loans and place reservations (called Holds).
As well as resources to support your study at TasTAFE, our collection also includes novels, graphic novels, quick reads, biographies, children’s books and much, much more for those who read to relax!
Resources – anywhere, anytime!
Your TasTAFE login gives you access to a wide range of eBooks, online videos and standards.
We also have millions of journal articles available through our databases – you can read or listen to articles, and download, print or email them, and they can also be translated into other languages.
You can access these resources through the Online tab on the front page of the library website.
Help
There is a Subject Guide devoted to each major teaching area at TasTAFE, which contains links to a wide range of websites, videos, articles and books that will give you a starting point for your research.

If you are returning to study – or just want to get better at it – you can also find hints and tips on the Help pages, and don’t forget that our library staff can also help you with problems with your login, password and connecting to the WiFi!
