Assessment and Results

Under the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) guidelines, it is required that assessment processes are valid, reliable, flexible and fair.

Your teachers will assess your skills, knowledge and competence through evidence gathered from a range of sources, and using a variety of assessment methods.

Clear information about the assessment process and evidence requirements will be provided by your teacher/s at the beginning of your course or assessment task.

Assessment processes also provide for the recognition of competence no matter how, where or when it was acquired (see Recognition  for more information).

Some units of competency will require a formal assessment to be completed, so you are encouraged to participate in collecting evidence to support your own competence.

If you are unable to complete an assessment at the specified time because of circumstances beyond your control (e.g. illness), you must contact your teacher and discuss your options for completing the assessment at
another time.

Statements of Results

Statements of Results are available on request from the relevant delivery unit administration staff or from Client Services.

Replacement certificates

For further information about obtaining a replacement Certificate, Statement of Results or Statement of Attainment, please contact your relevant delivery unit administration staff member, or complete the Request for Certificate Statement of Attainment or Results Form.

Please note: there will be a cost for replacement Certificates and Statements of Attainment.

Assessment Appeals

If you are not satisfied with the assessment process or your assessment result, you may appeal the decision.

An assessment appeal must be lodged with the relevant Educational Team Leader as soon as you have been advised of the outcome of your assessment.

Please speak with your teacher or Client Services staff for assistance.
